6.4.4. Attribution and Dating Protection by MaPreuve

6.4.4.1. All web pages on this site are protected

The MaPreuve legal protection system for digital documents is approved and recommended by the INPI, the French National Institute of Industrial Property. While not constituting a patent, this site, which contains hundreds of pages of text and hundreds of previously unpublished images, justifies the need for irrefutable proof of the author's identity and the integrity of the content as of a specific date.

As this is an evolving work intended to constantly receive new additions, corrections, translations, new texts, and images, periodic comprehensive electronic protections are provided.

The following paragraphs are consistent with the information on the MaPreuve.fr website.

Law No. 2000-230 of March 13, 2000, on electronic evidence, introduced several articles into the Civil Code:

Article 1316-3, which states that "Writing on electronic media has the same probative force as writing on paper"; Article 1316-4, which reiterates that an electronic signature is presumed reliable once it is created, that the identity of the signatory is assured, and that the integrity of the document is guaranteed.

The electronic signature implemented by MaPreuve.fr is equivalent to a handwritten signature in that it constitutes a "secure electronic signature" within the meaning of Decree No. 2001-272 of March 30, 2001, detailing the conditions for the aforementioned presumption of reliability.

Indeed, this electronic signature is specific to the signatory, created by means that the signatory may retain under their exclusive control, and guarantees a link with the document to which it relates such that any subsequent modification of the document is detectable.

The secure creation and certified verification mechanisms for this electronic signature, as well as the qualified electronic certificates issued by MaPreuve.fr, also comply with the provisions of Decree No. 2001-272 of March 30, 2001.

6.4.4.3. Electronic Signature

The electronic signature implemented by MaPreuve.fr is based on X.509 digital certificates; it complies with the PKCS#7 standard.

6.4.4.4. Timestamping

The timestamping server is synchronized with time servers based on several atomic clocks. The timestamping service complies with RFC 3161.

6.4.4.5. Digital Certificates

The digital certificates used by MaPreuve.fr for signature and timestamping are issued by Certigna certification authorities owned by Dhimyotis. They use algorithms that comply with the recommendations of the ANSSI (French National Agency for Information Systems Security) "Rules and recommendations concerning the selection and sizing of cryptographic mechanisms."

Certigna certification authorities are periodically audited by LSTI, accredited by COFRAC (French Accreditation Committee), to maintain the qualifications obtained at the European level (ETSI TS) and at the French level (RGS, General Security Framework). These qualifications make them a trusted player in the digital economy.

Thanks to these qualifications, Microsoft and Apple operating systems, as well as Mozilla, recognize the Certigna root authority: all certificates issued by its sub-authorities are automatically validated on computers worldwide.
